NEW YORK (VINnews) — An investigation is underway after 3 NYPD officers were poisoned on Monday evening.

The officers ingested the poison through eating a meal they took while on duty at a protest in Lower Manhattan.
According to a statement released by the NYPD PBA, the officers were assigned to deal with a protest in Lower Manhattan. During their meal period, they stopped at a Shake Shack location off Broadway and Fulton Street.
After the officers had already consumed a portion of their beverages, they discovered a toxic substance in their cups. At this time, the substance is thought to be bleach.
The officers are being treated at the hospital, and are expected to recover.
This is a result of the mayor poisoning the atmosphere against law enforcement.
