BERLIN (AP) — A man in Vienna has been fined 500 euros ($565) for breaking wind loudly in front of police — a move that the Austrian capital’s police force was at pains to defend on Tuesday.

The Oesterreich newspaper reported that the fine stemmed from an incident on June 5 and that the offender was fined for “offending public decency.”
City police wrote on Twitter that “of course no one is reported for accidentally ‘letting one go.’” They added that the man had behaved “provocatively and uncooperatively” during an encounter with officers that preceded the incident.
He got up from a park bench, looked at officers and “let go a massive intestinal wind apparently with full intent,” they said. “And our colleagues don’t like to be farted at so much.”
Police noted that the decision could be appealed.

Come to my house on an average Motzai Shabbos. It ain’t pretty. My wife and kids kick me out right after havdalla. Go to Shul, go to learn, go to some milaveh malka, go to some fundraiser, go to the movies. Do what you want, just get out of here. I was told it’s probably the cold cuts and chopped liver that cause me the most gas. I can give up the cold cuts but not ready yet to forego my chopped liver.

farting could sometimes be an expression of love , this was no reason for these fart cops to right away attack the poor guy , and assume that he was being nasty towards them .
If he really farted with FULL INTENT , according to the headline , then he should be commended if anything for all that extra Kavannah that he put into it .

yes it is clear from recent articles that Austria police eat lots of franks , donuts and chili . I believe the cops farted first at this bystander and only then did he fire back his farts in self defense .
