BNEI BRAK (VINnews) — The Admor of Vizhnitz-Bnei Brak was detained on his way to a vacation in the northern Israeli town of Chatzor Haglilit. The aides of the Admor were fined by police who claimed that they had violated COVID-19 health regulations.

The Admor was on his way to a short vacation but police detained his car and asked what he was doing there. After checking the car’s license, the policemen decided to fine the driver and the gabbaim 500 NIS each, since they were not wearing a mask during the trip. Regulations require that people who are not from the same housing unit must wear a mask when travelling together.
A Vizhnitz official told Kikar Hashabat that the Gabbaim attempted to explain to the policemen that they constantly accompany the Admor wherever he goes at all times of day and should therefore be considered part of his ‘capsule’, thus not requiring a mask, but the policemen were unmoved.
The Admor will stay in Chazor for the duration of his vacation before returning to Bnei Brak at the end of next week.
The comments here are so pathetic. It looks like these ppl are quarantined since march of last year, and and lost all sense of normalcy. Roadblocks for these rules should not be enforced in any democratic country, and whoever thinks that marshal law that’s governing us for close to a year is going to come to an end together with the pandemic, is beyond stupid
Ridiculous bored souls. Huge infringement on civil liberties.
a POLICE state….
glad to see that admorim are still above the law….
Well I guess we should boo governments that are trying to slow the spread, which is the only way to help reduce the chance of further mutations that can make your antibodies and any vaccine worthless. I guess we can all continue to go about and ignore COVID-19. As long as it does not mutate to a deadlier form that the vaccine or prior immunity is not effective against, the ignorant fools can say they are right.
Apparently the Israeli Police have more Derech-Eretz for a Rabbinical Gadol than:
Charlie, Avermil, Doda Miriam and Benny Galil. (previous comments.)
Besides, there’s no reason that the Gabo’im should not be considered part of the Rebbe’s ‘Nuclear family’.
Not to mention that if they all already have antibodies, they are less contagious than a light-bulb….
All you fools going nuts about the Rebbe shlit”a breaking lockdown, I’m currently in Eretz Yisroel and there is absolutely no lockdown. Even the gestapo aren’t stopping anyone. The Israeli government just says they are making a lockdown because they wanna pretend they know what they are doing to combat the spike. Welcome to kochi veotzem yodi land. This virus wont go away until the people who think they know everything will finally admit they know nothing
Lol – Who cares!
Very unfair – the law, is the law that applies to everyone. The Rebbe should have also been fined. In a Just Society everyone is equal, no on is above the law.
Why was the Admor not told to return home? Israel is in the throes of a third COVID-19 lockdown where citizens are not allowed to stray more than 1000 meters from their home except for a permitted necessary purpose. Going on vacation is not a permitted reason. If the Israel Police want the trust of the public, they should now fine the Admor and force him to return home.
Sure, why follow rules? Maybe more Israelis will get sick. So what? The Torah says nothing about protecting other shayna Yidden, right?
These are thee Rebbs these days – Don’t give a damn about anyone else. and we call the “tzadikim” LOL
So basically the Gabbaim were admitting that they were always violating the Covid rules and regulations.
