BNEI BRAK (VINnews) — In an attempt to persuade as many people as possible to vaccinate in Bnei Brak, the local municipality initiated a special drive to vaccinate on Thursday night between 7PM and 12 PM at all the local HMOs. In order to encourage maximum participation, each vaccinee will receive a special package including cholent and a roll in honor of Shabbos. The municipality is trying to give people a sense of how life could return to normal after they vaccinate, and Bnei Brak is famous for its Thursday night cholent.

68% of the city’s residents over the age of 60 have already vaccinated but just 38% of the younger group over the age of 16. After the Vizhnitz rebbe called on all the bachurim in his yeshiva to vaccinate and after the heads of kollelim called on all avreichim to vaccinate in order to be able to learn normally, it is expected that large crowds of people will come to vaccinate.

Israel News outlet Kann reports on the cholent-for-vaccine drive
In what seems a publicity stunt, Mohammed Saud, the Saudi blogger who loves Israel and all things Israeli made a special appeal in Hebrew to Bnei Brak residents to vaccinate “so that you will have the strength to study Torah.” Saud also mentioned that they would receive cholent but added that “unfortunately we don’t have this food in Saudia.”
