The consulate long served as an autonomous office in charge of diplomatic relations with the Palestinians. But former President Donald Trump downgraded its operations and placed them under the authority of his ambassador to Israel when he moved the embassy to Jerusalem.
The move infuriated the Palestinians, who view east Jerusalem as occupied territory and the capital of their future state.
Blinken announced the move Tuesday during a visit to the region to shore up the Gaza cease-fire.
Blinken is blinking , we are going backwards very fast , oy do I miss Trump
Of course they are, the Democrat way is to reward the terrorists for their intransigence. They are doing the same thing with the Iranian terror regime. The admin. will soon be sending hamas funds to rebuild effectively funding terrorism again.
Ben Gvir for prime minister.
The terrorists all know that all they have to do is hold out until a democrat is elected and then they will get everything they want. Remember the democrats base have become more anti Israel and pro hamas in the last decade, double the number of democrats blame Israel for the latest conflict than the number that blame hamas. Democrats members of Congress are posting blood labels about Israel and supporting hamas.
Before anyone starts bashing this plan, keep in mind a few well-known pieces of advice:
1) Beware of unintended consequences
2) Be careful of what you wish for
3) Keep your friends close and your enemies closer
