NEW YORK (VINnews) — Senator Ted Cruz, who is currently visiting Israel, toured the country’s Iron Dome rocket-defense system as well as viewing damage caused to buildings in Ashkelon by Hamas rocket barrages which were not fully intercepted by the system. Cruz accused President Biden of showing weakness towards Hamas and calling prematurely for a cease fire with them, a policy which ’emboldens’ them to continue firing rockets at Israel.

At the same time, Cruz tweeted his impressions from visiting the bombarded buildings, stating that this was the first time he had seen a mezuzah hanging from the doorway of a home bombed by terrorists. Cruz called this ‘heartbreaking’.

Cruz also snapped a picture of a walker used by the old lady whose house was bombed and whose caretaker was killed in the rocket strike. The woman herself was badly injured.
