JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A female soldier was lightly to moderately injured at a Jordan Valley outpost Wednesday morning and her weapon was stolen from her by a Palestinian terrorist, who then attempted to flee with the weapon from the scene. IDF forces in the region chased down the suspect who was transferred for interrogation by security forces.

The soldier was evacuated by helicopter to the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem where she was diagnosed in stable condition. The IDF is attempting to ascertain what the goal of the terrorist was – did he intend to use the weapon against other soldiers or simply to escape with it into the regions ruled by the Palestinian Authority.
An IDF spokesmen said that “we received a report about a suspect who stabbed an IDF soldier and stole her weapon near the Nevo outpost in the Jordan Valley. IDF forces captured the suspect and retrieved the weapon. The matter is under investigation.”
