KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — Kyle Rittenhouse has been acquitted of all charges after pleading self-defense in the deadly Kenosha, Wisconsin, shootings that became a flashpoint in the nation’s debate over guns, vigilantism and racial injustice.

The jury came back with its verdict after close to 3 1/2 days of deliberation.
Rittenhouse, 18, could have gotten life in prison if found guilty of the most serious charge against him.
He was charged with homicide, attempted homicide and recklessly endangering safety for killing two men and wounding a third with an AR-style semi-automatic rifle.
The shootings took place during a night of protests over police violence against Black people in the tumultuous summer of 2020. Rittenhouse is white, as were those he shot. The jury appeared to be overwhelmingly white.

So were the witnesses for the prosecution. Perhaps we can also know how many were brunettes, or left-handed? What other irrelevant demographic information can we include about the jurors that could sway the mind of a low-information individual?

The only black person involved in the attacks was never identified till yesterday, and is not being charged… Speak about white privilege.

Great news. I think every time more than 10 people get together to break windows and make noise, all the 17 year old unemployed white trash high school dropouts from the next state should be given rifles and bussed to the next state, where they can each shoot two blacks and one Jew. MAGA.
I guess it boiled down to whether the jury felt Rittenhouse instigated the deadly confrontations (an instigator loses the privilege of self-defense). Apparently, the jury decided that he still had that privilege.
Well. it could be argued self defense, but he put himself in that situation. Depends on Wisconsin’s statute and judge’s instructions but amazing he skated on the gun charge.
Honestly, I wouldn’t think he is guilty of murder but he should have been charged
for some lesser crime since he is guilty of something. He was looking for a fight. Perhaps our esteemed panel of lawyers can provide insight? They range from Phineas, Yonasonw, Lawrence Reisman etc.
