The mother called 911 after the shooting around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday and said the father had shot at someone he thought was breaking into the house after the security system was activated, authorities said.
In a recording of the 911 call, the father asks his daughter what she was doing, and both parents beg for the girl, Janae Hairston, to wake up.
The daughter was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later, authorities said.
The shooting remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

Once again – if you bring a gun into your house to protect yourself, statistics say you are far more likely to kill yourself or a family member than an intruder. Do with that what you want
I grew up in a house with a gun
When ever I was coming home late I made sure to tell my dad
Moral of the story, if the girl also had a gun this would not have happened. Solution is obviously more guns.
Call out to the intruder before shooting.
Wait for their answer.
Maybe you won’t have to shoot him; you’d have the police arrest him.
This happens every couple of months somewhere in the country, almost as common as school shootings.
However the number of gun owners who commit suicide by gun is far higher than these accidents.
