quote from the letter “as the discussion that could be generated surrounding the author and the wrongs he committed would be most harmful”
Sorry, his crimes, which went on for years with the knowledge of Rabanim THAT was the “most harmfull” not the discussion now!, take your head out of the PR machine for a moment!
From discussing it we can only learn and become wiser, to never ever let this happen again! to never ever hush these things up again!! NEVER AGAIN!
when we ignore history were are condemned to repeat it, if we document history and learn from it, we as a community will become wiser!

What harm would be generated by the discussions?
That they would ask why haredi Rabbonim did nothing to stop him — but that it was only thanks to a Mizrachi Rav and a secular newspaper?

What does Torah Umesorah mean by “chavas daas” rather than a psak?

a good letter, but such a long way to go. still horrified by the rabbis who are supporting the abuser and who helped cover up the abuse for over 20 years. I would bet they received financial support and donations from the abuser over many years.

And why were other known abusers not investigated and condemned like “rabbi” Berland ,and the ring of frum pedophiles who prayed on children in the Nachalot neighborhood in jerusalem?????

Funny that this post got the fewest comments. Nobody cares what Torah Umesorah has to say.
I have an idea. How about we say, “Chaim Walder is a sick perverted child rapist, who’s smallest sin was ending his pathetic life”
I like it.
