MANHATTAN (VINnews) — Well, that was fast. Some sources say that Eric Adams, less than two weeks into his term as mayor, may have already violated ethics laws.

The Mayor has appointed his own brother Bernard to a top position in the NYPD–deputy commissioner, which earns over $200,000 a year.
What are Bernie’s qualifications? He spent the past ten years as assistant director of parking at Virginia Commonwealth University, not a typical resume for a high-level NYPD official. (He is also a retired cop, along with tens of thousands of others.)
Now News Four is reporting that Adams may have violated New York City ethics law by hiring his brother before being granted permission by the City’s Conflicts of Interest Board.
The news outlet quotes Mark Davies, who was executive director of the COIB for 22 years, saying, “No city official can take an action to hire a brother or sister, without the prior approval of the Conflicts of Interest Board. That approval has to come first.”
When the mayor was asked about the bizarre appointment on CNN, he mentioned a concern about “white supremacy”, saying: “He will be in charge of my security, which is extremely important to me in a time where we see an increase in white supremacy and hate crimes.”
That response would suggest that there is nobody as qualified as the mayor’s own brother to protect him against racists.
According to police sources, some NYPD officials were puzzled by the appointment as well, which certainly reeks of nepotism.
The only hate crimes in NYC are against Jews and Asians all by blacks and muslims.
That comment he made about why he needs his brother to run his security because of white supremacist and racists blah blah blah…. He’s Just another typical racist thug in a suit. No different than Al Sharpton. It’s unbelievable and insane that these people get elected to office to represent all different nationalities. Especially in a melting pot like NYC.
those white supremacists must be committing so many crimes in NYC and because of their white privilege they must be escaping Rikers in huge numbers as those incarcerated their are 93% people of color.
Playing the race card will get you out of any jam.
New York has laws???
Nepotism and racism is alive and well and living in NYC.
something is telling me that eric will not last long.
as mayor adams said weeks ago “lets disregard the noise, lead & get things done mayor
