JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Time and again during the course of the current pandemic, Israeli police have taken coronavirus regulations to extreme levels and violently arrested citizens for merely not wearing their facemask properly. Chareidi citizens in particular suffered the brunt of police violence as they were viewed as refusing to comply with regulations on a communal level.

In recent weeks however, the entire country has faced the Omicron version of coronavirus, and an estimated third of the population tested positive for the virus in different forms. The current government did not impose closures or restrictions on daily life and in most public places, facemask compliance has not been enforced in the past months.
Despite this, when police do enforce in chareidi environments they tend inevitably to use inordinate violence on citizens. Instead of giving warnings as they do in secular areas, they often demand ID and issue heavy fines. Those who refuse to give their ID are often violently apprehended as if they were criminals.

On Monday, a Bnei Brak resident was forcibly pushed down at the back of a store, suffering facial abrasions and bruises which required him to be hospitalized. The man was not a criminal nor was he exhibiting unusual behavior. In most chareidi neighborhoods, especially those where the vast majority of people already contracted coronavirus, there is no facemask wearing both in shuls and in public places, except for public transport where it is still required and enforced.
Thus it is incomprehensible that police should target one individual and implement such extreme measures against him when most of the population are ignoring the regulations altogether. At the most, police should warn all the people in the vicinity to comply with regulations in closed spaces rather than targeting one person for extreme punishment.
This type of beating goes back many years. Many times the secular Israeli government unleashes it’s soldiers and police including violent special forces to attack religious Jews at random. There were many times where these pork eating troops came into from areas and just beat anyone in the street.religious Jews in America have the power to stop these attacks by street protests and public statements. The Israeli government does not care about protests within Israel but they worry about protests in America. This is where their money comes from. Satmar rebbe understood this and used it as a pressure tactic on religious issues in Israel.
So where are we supposed to settle now? I thought EY was it, no?
Zionist Nazi %#$.
Important details were left out of this story.
I have the same question I always have when these cases happen. Are we upset that the police are brutal, or because they are brutal against the wrong people?
