Israeli Fire And Rescue Services Require Volunteers To List ‘Parent 1’ And ‘Parent 2’

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In the wake of the public controversy over MDA’s donor forms requiring donors to register ‘Parent 1’ and ‘Parent 2’ in place of their father and mother and the refusal of many Israelis to donate blood on such forms,  another Israeli public institution has now made similar forms.

The Israeli Fire and Rescue services however are an official government service. The attempt to utilize the service’s documents in order to blur the structure of the family is viewed as an attack on the traditional family and conservative groups were quick to criticize the decision.

An organization which opposes the alternative culture permeating Israel’s main bodies, Torat Lechima, pointed out the new forms and saw them as an attempt by LGBTQ groups to influence public bodies and the way they perceive family structure. The organization says that the first institution to introduce the new forms was the IDF’s Manpower Directorate, but the new forms have even been used by government services, despite an attempted law to require them being defeated in 2021. The current forms of the fire and rescue services may cause a new boycott on volunteering to these services unless they revert to the previous forms.

Dispatcher: “911 Hello – What is your emergency?”
CALLER: “My father climbed out the window of our 6 story apartment and is threatening to jump”

Dispatcher: “Is he ok speaking with me”
CALLER: “Perhaps. Our psychologist warned us this may happen”

Dispatcher: “Give me the psychologist’s number – I’ll call him right away”
CALLER: “Sure here you go…”
Dispatcher: “Wait on the line”

Dispatcher: “Hello Dr X we have an emergency with your client”
Dr: “Which client?”

Dispatcher: “We got a call from this address, and a parent needs help”
Dr: “Is that Parent A or Parent B?”

Dispatcher: “No clue – Do you know”
Dr: “I evaluated Parent A and they are safe even if threatening to harm themselves”

Dispatcher to CALLER: “Seeing as we only have Parent A in the system, and our Data model tells us that A=B, the risk of danger is zero, Thanks for calling have a great day.
Please stay on the line to take our 5 minute survey”

Line goes dead
Parent A does the same

If that were me, I would just cross out parent 1 and parent 2 , substitute mother and father, then submit the form.
