After His Car Was Torched 9 Times, Tal Yeshovayovs’ House In Nahalat Shimon Gutted In Petrol Bomb Attack

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — On Friday night at around 10:30, Arab terrorists threw petrol bombs into the house of Shimon Hatzadik resident Tal Yeshovayav. Yeshovayav had suffered repeated harassment from his Arab neighbors in the past year and his car had been torched 9 times but the current attack is an escalation and was described as “attempted murder” by right-wing groups and MKs who called on police to restore the sense of security of Jews living in the neighborhood. The house was heavily damaged in the attack but miraculously the family was not present at the time.

Yeshovayav reported after Shabbat that “the fire which broke out over the bed of my 2-year-old son burnt everything in the vicinity. I don’t want to imagine what would have happened if we had been home for Shabbat -it could have ended in tragedy.

“Those responsible for what could chas veshalom have been a spilling of innocent Jewish blood are the government and the police, who are doing nothing to catch the terrorists. If this was the house of an Arab, the Shin Bet would have gone into action immediately and issued administrative orders against Jews. When it happens to Jews, the security forces simply abandon us.”

It is noteworthy that the national police headquarters and a Border Police station are situated a mere 500 meters away from Yeshovayev’s house. Moreover, left-wing elements had demonstrated near Yeshovayev’s house a few hours before and after his car was targeted 9 times in recent months, police could have anticipated further attacks on his house.

MK Itamar Ben-Gvir announced Saturday night that he was moving his parliamentary bureau adjacent to the site of the attack. Ben-Gvir wrote: “where are you champions of human rights? why are you silent? Where is the police and the most failed police commissioner in its history? Why are you waiting until a tragedy happens?”

Ben-Gvir’s office said that the MK “intends to help residents and give them a little security and a little tailwind which they are not receiving from the government. Ben-Gvir will come on a permanent basis to the neighborhood and receive people in his office there.”

In May 2021, when Ben-Gvir previously moved his bureau to the neighborhood, riots broke out and led to the Protective Edge campaign after Hamas and Israeli Arabs attacked Jews in mixed neighborhoods.

Tens of Jewish youths arrived in Nahalat Shimon Saturday night after Yoshevayev called for more Jews to come and strengthen the Jewish presence in the area. Clashes broke out between Jews and Arabs and a Jewish man was moderately injured when he was knocked down by an Arab car. The 21-year-old driver was arrested by police and claimed he was sprayed with pepper gas and did not see in front of his car. Police are not treating the incident as a terror attack.

When arab terrorists feel ignored by the global media they increase their attacks.

When arab terrorists feel their cause is being ignored by the media (due to Ukraine crisis, Olympics, etc) they increase their attacks to get attention. Happens every time. Israel will crack down on them, they will bellyache and start the cycle of violence all over. Sad.
