JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said in a channel 12 interview Sunday that in the event of a Russian invasion Israel would side with her longtime ally the US, despite its interest in maintaining cordial relations with the Russians due to their efforts to maintain quiet on the Israeli-Syrian border.

Lapid said that “we are more cautious than the Americans and they understand this. He explained that Israel has two problems which Britain and the US do not have – “a border with Russia on the border with Syria” as well as the concern for the welfare of hundreds of thousands of Jews in Russia and the Ukraine.

“Our situation is similar to that of the Baltic states,” Lapid said. “We have a border with Russia for all intents and purposes.” He added that the security coordination with the Russians “enables us, according to foreign reports to act continuously against Iranians in Syria. Lapid however stressed Israel’s concern for the Jewish communities in Russia and Ukraine and said that this was a factor in Israel’s decisions.

Lapid did not commit Israel to sanctions in the event of Russian invasion, stating that “we will have to consider it, this is not the situation at present and we are not there yet.”

He added that Israel is contemplating moving its embassy from Kyiv to Lvov in the Western Ukraine. “At this stage our intelligence estimates are different from our American and British counterparts. We estimate that the chances of a Russian invasion are low but we are preparing for such a contingency. All infrastructure in Lvov is ready to receive the Israeli embassy.

Lapid’s statement that Israel will side with the US aroused significant criticism from experts who pondered why Israel needed to stress its allegiance and lose favor with Russia if the invasion does not eventually take place. One senior official said that “this is an especially sensitive time an Lapid’s statement which breaks Israel’s neutrality was superfluous.”

The Russians are no fools.

They understand that the Zionists are the ultimate “galus Jew” and need to bow to their various masters, including the United States, and that this is, of course, the context for this statement and the rest.

The Zionists have zero political power of their own. They are wholly dependent on the nations of the world.

So, the Zionist idol will eventually be reduced to nothing. We’re not there yet, but at least some progress has been made, BH.
