An Egged bus split in two on Wednesday while traveling in Jerusalem. The incident occurred at noon, when the extra long bus was suddenly split in two where its front and rear connect.

Chasdei Hashem, there were no passengers on the bus other than the driver – thus avoiding a much more serious, maybe deadly situation.

The Israel Bus Drivers’ Association issued a statement: “Usually Accordion buses are crowded with passengers and many students. The maintenance of the buses in Israel is very poor and there is not enough manpower to check their condition. By a miracle, a national disaster on a huge scale was averted here.”
