Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Blames Shin Bet For Terror Attack:’ They Don’t Know Who Is Friend And Who Is Foe’

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — In the wake of Tuesday’s horrific terror attack in Beersheva in which four people were murdered, a lot of Israelis are querying how a terrorist who had been found guilty of ISIS membership was walking free on Israel’s streets without any surveillance.

Many have targeted the judge who released the terrorist, Mohammad Ghaleb Abu al-Qi’an, in 2016 after he pleaded guilty in a plea bargain agreement to charges of plotting to commit a crime, membership in an illegal organization (ISIS) and other charges. The prosecution demanded a hefty sentence due to the membership in ISIS, who have ” abandoned their divine image and wish to devote themselves to a terror organization which has divested its humanity and replaced it with murderousness and thuggery.” The prosecution added that if the accused would go to Syria and return they would “import radical Jihadist ideologies to Israel.”

Despite this, the terrorist was sentenced to just a four-year jail term judge, as Yoel Eden ruled that “the expression of regret of the accused is genuine” and added that “I have not found that there is a need for an unusual sentence in the case of the accused,” since “he is a teacher who is respected and admired in his community and until committing these crimes held a normative lifestyle.”

Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu of Tzfat claims that the fault lies with the Shin Bet, Israel’s intelligence service which is supposed to track terror but is “occupied with other issues.” In a Facebook post Rabbi Eliyahu wrote that “a month ago I received a call from a Shin Bet operative. He wanted to ask me to calm things among Jews due to the coming month of Ramadan. I rejected his request for a meeting and told him that Ramadan is a month when Arabs sharpen their knives, not Jews. If they came to me they have a serious problem in their assessments and I’m not willing to join their lunacies.”

Rabbi Eliyahu added that “the murder in Beersheva demonstrated how mistaken they are. They haven’t yet understood who is friend and who is foe. Today they interrogated the settler who saved lives by shooting the murderer and took his weapon. If there hadn’t been a protest his weapon wouldn’t have been returned and he would have remained under arrest.”

Terrorists should be put to death. Jailing them is not worth the effort and only encourages more terror.

The PA is a terror supporting organization and should be eliminated.
