JERUSALEM (VINnews) — A Jewish prisoner who had been jailed for life for killing an Arab to avenge the murder of two of his friends has died in an Israeli jail after being refused medical treatment despite begging for it hours before his death. The prisoner, 52-year-old Gur Hammel, was found dead in his cell on Sunday.

In a shocking recording released by the Choneinu legal organization which defends Jewish civilians who find themselves in legal trouble due to defending themselves against Arab aggression, Hammel can be heard hours before his death crying from stomach pain and begging to be checked by a doctor. He said that “I am doubled over in pain, do something, call the whole world, I am dying of pain, I don’t know what I have but I have horrendous stomach pains.” Hammel cried in pain continuously but the jailors intentionally ignored him. A judge scheduled a hearing for Wednesday to verify his condition but Hammel died a few hours after this conversation with his friend.

Hammel was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole after killing a 68-year-old Palestinian 30 days after the murder of his friends Harel Bin-Nun and Shlomo Libman near the Samarian community of Yitzhar. The murderers of Bin-Nun and Libman were caught and sentenced to life imprisonment but released in 2012 during the Shalit agreement.
Hammel, whose brother-in-law was also murdered in a 2001 terror attack, was left in jail for 22.5 years but the manner of his death raised serious questions about the treatment he received from prison authorities. Hammel’s family is convinced that “his blood was spilt by the Prison Authority,” which has stated that he committed suicide but added that it is investigating the case.

Obviously, he should have received medical treatment, that’s inexcusable.
But the 68 year old man he murdered didn’t kill his friends. That’s murder. That’s terrorism.

When Israel becomes a Jewish state things will change.
Israel must reinstate the death penalty for all terrorists convicted of murder, instead of freeing them in deals, when obama pushed Netanyahu to free terrorists to appease Abbas, and then when a terrorist who had killed Americans was included, they went all out condemning the inclusion.
