JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Israeli government will close Har Habayis to Jewish visitors starting Friday, and it will remain closed throughout the end of Ramadan and the Eid holiday.

The decision by PM Naftali Bennett comes in response to recent violence which has erupted, after Palestinians rioted against Jews in the Old City.
The announcement was met with outrage by many right-wing Israelis.
“The government of Israel has given in to the enemy,” tweeted commentator Eran Segal.
In the past, similar closures lasted about 3-4 days, however this one is scheduled to last for nearly 2 weeks.
The international community has condemned Israel’s response to the violence, which has been purely self-defense against Arab rioters who have thrown stones and committed other acts of violence, including assaults against visitors to the Kosel.
Five Jews were injured on Sunday when Arabs threw stones at buses heading to the Kosel.
The violence comes after a string of Arab terror attacks across Israel in recent weeks.
This will only trigger more violence from Arabs, they interpret flexibility to weakness, the only thing they understand & respect is power , it’s a shame the Israelis never learn.

I agree that the belief is that Jews should not ascend the Temple Mount in case we step on the Holy of Holies in contravention of HaShem’s law BUT the abstention should be on OUR part NOT as a reward to Muslims for rioting & further vandalising the holy site.

Smart. We are in Golus and have been banished from the Har Habayis. When the time is right for us to return Hashem will let us know. Maybe the knowledge that goyim are traipsing around the holy places will spur us to do tshuva.

It’s not a new thing, every year on Ramadan it’s closed. But biezras Hashem more and more people are going to the Makom Hamikdash (instead of the “Tumaah Plaza” – that’s were you go if your Tamei) so they thought that they could maybe this year have enough yidden to warrant the aliyah. However there are still not enough Yidden compared to the amount of Muslims that come. Oy Lanu.
