ISRAEL (VINnews) — On Tuesday evening (Israel time), police apprehended and detained a number of Charedi Yungeleit, heading to Meron by minibus. Police found them in possession of burglary tools, which they were apparently planning to use to break fences to breach the Meron site without tickets on Lag B’Omer, in addition to other possible vandalism.

The arrest was reported on B’Chadrei Charedim news outlet.

Throughout the evening, several buses and minibuses carrying dozens of extremists were stopped, and some were sent back to Jerusalem.

Police officers from the Northern District Central Unit searched the minibus, and discovered knives and other tools that appeared to be specifically brought with intent to breach the festivities.

Officials released the following statement: “The Israel Police takes the behavior of law-breaking extremists very seriously, trying in every way possible to sabotage the revelry. Damage to infrastructure, beyond harming the event and causing anguish to the celebrants, may cause real danger to those staying at the site in case the command and control infrastructure is harmed. The police will act resolutely in order to enable the routine of prayers and preparations in the place and will take a tough hand against those lawbreakers.”

Earlier Tuesday, the High Court rejected a petition by extremists against government restrictions which have been implemented in Meron for safety reasons.

On Monday, over 1,000 people took part in a massive protest in Kikar Shabbos opposing the safety restrictions.

How is it that certain people just don’t learn from past mistakes? Didn’t we lose enough last year? What a chilul Hashem.

Everyone agrees that there was change needed, even if the media tries selling you that these are people who don’t care and that the Eida Hacharidet is just here to fight.
The Eida Hachariedes had a few meetings with the Safety Commission and were trying to work with them, but at some point, it became clear that these people were here to destroy and show power and not for safety . instead of enlarging the place they made it smaller, they destroyed infrastructure for no reason. besides all that, it is clear that there is a way to have 500,000 people in meron, it’s a huge place, but instead of working on that, they chose the route of no music in the morning, destroying the bhm”d, dismantling the Derech Hmehadran, etc.

(Even when it comes to screens, which I personally don’t think is an issue, but most chariedem do, then why put it on there?)

For anyone that knows the facts, it is clear that the Israeli government declared war and not the Chariedm. they are trying to secularise the place

The government has hijacked this tragedy and used it to antagonize the orthodox community by destroying the festivities.

They measures they have takes went way beyond what was needed, they could have increased exits and distributed the festival events so they do not coincide with one another.

They do not understand the Chareidi community and they have had the chareidi community have some autonomy over this event.

The tragedy last year was really overseen by the Police, they were running the event and crammed the crowd with Covid regulations into a few hour window, staging the event that followed.

Just like we have people who deprogram people stuck in cults or in Jews for Hesus it’s time we deprogram these people. You can be Frum and also live in the real world. I’ve been involved with Chasidim that were Frum as could be but also knew how to navigate the real world like a Mensch.

Going to Meron on Lag B’omer is NOT a mitzvah!! It’s time somebody said it!! Stay home; go to the Beis Midrash and learn Torah!!! I know it’s not fun and there’s no music and food but it is the real way to serve Hashem

The Zionist government is attempting to turn this place into a museum.

What a laugh. The chareidi nutcases whose yiddishkeit has been reduced to mystical nonsense blame the zionists for not forking over hundreds of millions of shekels to expand their playground. The sane litvish gedolim wonder how their religion was hijacked by these Neanderthals. Next stop: come to my door and ask me to fund the flight to Uman.

Everyone of these Rambunctious creatures needs to have their ID taken and entered into a computer database, to be permanently banned in all future years from being eligible to enter lottery to apply for ל”ג ב”עומר tickets to מירון ever again for life.
