JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Nurses and midwives at the Shaarei Tzedek maternity department rubbed their eyes in amazement as they saw two identical twins arriving within hours of each other – both giving birth to their fourth child, both delivering boys.

Previously, both 31-year-old Yael, the older twin, and her sister Avital had two girls and a boy each.
Yael Yishai, a computer analyst from Gush Etzion, arrived first in the hospital this time, after her waters broke. A few hours later she gave birth to a baby boy. Just hours later her sister Avital, an accountant who also lives in Gush Etzion, arrived in the hospital with contractions and told staff that her twin sister had just given birth. “The wonderful nurses saw our excitement and asked for my sister’s name so that they could give us a joint room in the department. After a few hours in the delivery room I gave birth to a healthy baby boy, the staff did everything to ease the process. After the birth they placed me next to my sister,” Avital said.
Yael added that “birth is a special and moving event and it is a great joy to share it with a good friend who is also a sister. It was fun being in a room together with the new babies. Last time we gave birth six weeks apart, so this will be our second maternity leave together.”
Midwives Rina Dvir and Efrat Herling said that “we are in a constant cycle of creation of life and family and this is our motto. When two sisters who are identical twins give birth we are doubly happy for them. Most of the local babies are born her and we feel part of one big family in our roles in the biggest maternity center in Israel. The births went well with healthy babies and we wish them and their families a double mazeltov and much health, satisfaction and joy.”
