Thank you Democrat party and the leftists for continuing to ruin lives and ruin the country. But I’m sure you people will keep voting for Democrats. You people are very very very stupid!

Look , I agree with Zvi that Marijuana and Alcohol is a huge problem in our community. However, I’ve worked in more modern orthodox schools , where they do have drug and alcohol education, what happens is the children become knowledgeable and curious and it gives them more of a reason to want to try it.

I think the solutions are twofold .
1. Education begins at home
Parents hve to provide a safe a secure home for their children with warmth of Judaism . They won’t feel a need for escape.
2. The schools need to do a better job of bringing Yiras Shomayim instilled in our children to the point that we wound never want to do something that would upset our creator . But I humbly do not agree eduction is the way to go

I’ve never tried marijuana. I wouldn’t want my kids to try it. But I wish medical marijuana would have been available when my mother was painfully dying of cancer. Anything that would have eased her pain would have been beneficial.

Don’t even debate with anybody that says cannabis is the same as alcohol.. You’ll just be wasting your time. It’s like arguing with a missionar Who keeps telling you there’s no salvation unless you believe in you know who.
From what I obserned cannabis is the least of Is the problems in the Frum community… The Internet and smartphones have done more damage in my opinion than anything else.

And what’s new about this. It’s been in our community for years. Only now they are finally willing to discuss it Drugs alcohol abuse is nothing new

Those who abuse cannabis nowadays have probably already been doing so when it was banned. The difference being that now it is above-board and can be discussed apart from implicit legal jeopardy

It is still a problem. And, yes, it IS a gateway!

Actually I am quite alarmed at the recent addition of small canned alcoholic drinks being sold in stores that look like soda and I think the frum community should be concerned about that!! We are in a big spiral, folks

Makes a great point we as parents need to address this at home. This has nothing to do with politics as mentioned before.

So essentially you are saying that marijuana is the same as alcohol but if you had your way you would have everything banned

Like everything in this world, there is a balance. Marijuana might not be for everyone but it most definitely is good for some people.

90% of chinuch is done wrong-in schools and at homes. Locate the warm mothers/reachers who have 100% track record with their own kids- all wholesome and good. Put those mothers in charge of our school designs and chinuch speech courses- they know what they are doing. Instead schools are politically run and often incompetent people are advising our kids. Chinuch speeches are given by orators instead of by mothers with proven methods and track records. This is a simple fix, if only we coukd have the collective honesty required to implement.

Question. How many people reading this have smoked a joint in the last 5 years?

Are more lives ruined by marijuana or by marijuana arrests? I would suppose the latter rather than the former.

When will we have another discussion of the merits of various whiskies?

Would not listen to him, after besmirching a person with a beautiful reputation for 40 years, just because it might further his agenda,

Recommend to read a book on this subject, “Marijuana in Halacha,” available on Amazon for a very affordable price. The book touches the risks and dangers in use of marijuana, including how it inhibits observance of mitzvos

Tzvi fights many good fights, but lately he’s been discrediting himself by jumping to conclusions too quickly before getting the actual facts. He’s gotten too high on his accomplishments and fame. Tzvi keep up the good work, but try to drop the ga’aveh.
