With Canada just a stone’s throw away from the US, it makes sense that gambling of all types, including casino gaming, is a pastime that many residents enjoy regularly. And, with Canada and the US being neighbours, it’s also no surprise that many Americans have crossed the bored. But, as far as gambling goes, can they gamble in Canada?

Well, it’s funny you should ask, as the laws surrounding gambling in Canada are somewhat confusing. In the main, the determination of the government is to be firm, fair and flexible. They don’t want to be too liberal, believing it could lead to dangerous illegal activity, especially on the gaming front, coming to the fore. A problem that plagued Canada in the past for a number of years. But, at the same time, they do want everyone in Canada, including Americans, to be able to gamble and have fun doing so.

What you have in Canada are ten provinces, and as each of the provinces are self-governing, the laws surrounding gambling come down to the lieutenant governors for the most part. So, you could suggest that it depends on which province an American is in at the time in terms of where and how they can gamble. For example, what you can do in Ontario, may differ from Quebec and vice versa.

It seems to be the case across the board that land-based casinos remain popular in Canada, and they’re something that most provinces are keen to embrace. One thing that governments and those with decision-making power can be sure of is in terms of land-based gaming venues; keeping punters safe and everything above board and fair is much easier than it is online, something which we will come onto shortly.

And there’s a lot to like about the land-based casinos in the various provinces of Canada. They’re all loaded with slot machines and table games for the most part, and they also provide an excellent social occasion. Americans visiting Canada or living there may be used to the glitz, glamour and extravagance of Las Vegas venues. But the casinos in Canada more than hold their own.

Of course, in recent times, online gambling has come to the fore and very much begun to take over from land-based casino activities, primarily because of how convenient it is. However, the laws surrounding online casino gaming are somewhat trapped in a grey area. Playing at online casinos in some provinces gets the thumbs up, but in others, it doesn’t.

But, when gambling on the internet doesn’t necessarily get the thumbs up, visiting reputable platforms such as PartyCasino online is something that often happens, and there doesn’t appear to be any issues with this being the case. It certainly offers Americans in Canada a convenient way to enjoy gambling online, and there are some well-stocked platforms in terms of content, from video slots to table games and live casino.
