Violent antisemitism is rampant in New York City, and the pitiful criminal justice system is allowing criminals to roam free.
This past week, at least two major media outlets cited a recent study, showing that prosecutors are doing virtually nothing to crack down on antsemitic attacks.
In an article entitled: “Prosecutions ‘Nonexistent’ in Majority of Hate Crimes Cases Against Jews in New York”, Mediaite, which typically slants left, quoted the “Americans Against Antisemitism” study showing that virtually no antisemitic attackers are convicted or imprisoned.
Here is an excerpt: “…a report by the group Americans Against Antisemitism that…’found that of the 118 adults arrested for anti-Jewish hate crimes in New York City since 2018, only one has been convicted and sent to prison.’”
The group is led by renowned orthodox community activist Dov Hikind.
The story also quoted a Jewish publication saying that the attacks are so common, people have grown desensitized. “In New York, street harassment, minor assaults, and even full-on beatings of visible Jews are almost a banality now, too frequent over too long of a period to be considered an active crisis, even in the communities most affected.”
The article did not specify the background of the antisemitic attackers, however it is well known that virtually all are minorities. Few if any white supremacists or neo-nazis attack Jews in New York City, contrary to what some Democrats would like people to believe.

These animals are also attacking Asians as well. It’s not just frum Jews. I think it’s generally an anti-white thing and a crime of opportunity because we live amongst them. It’s not like they’re traveling far to go and commit a crime against a Jew. The closer you live to them the more incidents there are going to be.

i believe that many of these attacks can be attributed to two things that have occurred this past decade:
1)bail reform that gives haters every incentive to beat up chasidim since they know they will not be punished
2) the campaign of hate and lies against chasidm by the anti-chasid hate org yaffed. for around a decade they constantly publish articles in the mainstream media about how chasidm are smelly uneducated thieves who control politicians and spread disease to the public, –words do have consequences and I implore secular newspapers to stop publishing their vitriolic hate and bile
Will any of the “media attention” help Yidden to defend themselves from random teen age hoodlums? Self-defense is the only answer, not more blah blah blah from Hikind and others.
Over the past couple of years, many more Jews have been killed in Pittsburgh than in New York.
