Rochel Leah Taktuk, daughter of Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, wrote “Don’t mess with the Jews” on social media, clearly referencing Owens’ bogus claims that Kanye’s remarks were not antisemitic.

In response, Owens blasted Mrs. Taktuk on Twitter: “I have been fielding threats for two weeks straight. How is it possible that any person is allow to openly message “don’t mess with the Jews” to me? Rochel Leah is just one of many who have been openly threatening me and many other black podcasters. Why is this okay?”
It is clear that Owens’ response was disingenuous and egregious. For one thing, this was not a “threat”, it was a defense of Jews against someone who is filled with hate. In addition, Owens’ claim that Taktuk was targeting “black podcasters” is hypocritical and wrong. For a conservative to play the race card, a vicious tactic typically employed by leftists, is highly distasteful.
Journalist Joel Griffith defended Taktuk and blasted Owens, tweeting: “Rochel Leah (Boteach) Taktuk was speaking truth: Defending antisemitism is not without consequences. This is not a physical (or otherwise unlawful) threat! It’s simply a promise to defend the Jewish people, countering the antisemitic poison dispensed by Kanye”

Other conservatives have blasted Jews for condemning Kanye. Talk radio host Jesse Kelly tweeted: “Kanye looked like a loon blasting away at Jews like that. Jewish people piling on him and demanding his financial destruction in the wake of it look equally terrible.”
It appears that some conservative pundits refuse to attack Kanye’s despicable and dangerous behavior, because he has been a right-wing Trump supporter for years.

Last week, Ben Shapiro, whose “Daily Wire” website employs Owens, disagreed with her comments in defense of Kanye, saying: “Candace and I disagree about a wide variety of topics…on a personal level I get Candace defending her friend…I don’t think her defense is convincing.”
Shapiro called Kanye’s comments “antisemitic.” However some have said that Shapiro could have been much stronger in his comments against Owens.

I actually watched most of Kanye’s interview that started this whole tararum. I don’t believe he is personally antisemitic from what he said. I believe his remarks are dangerous because they bring out the antisemitism that is present in many non-Jews but he is clearly envious of what we have accomplished and wants that for his people but does not hate us because of who we are.
The problem is that saying all these things causes Jews problems by those who are truly antisemitic.
