Satmar Rebbe Says Many Jews Brainwashed By Trumpism

NEW YORK (VINnews) – Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, one of just two Chasidic rabbis to endorse Governor Kathy Hochul’s election campaign, wasted no time making a public statement today, denouncing the Jewish community for its nearly universal support of her opponent, as crazed “Trumpists.”

A seven and a half minute audio clip making the rounds on social media today featured the leader of one of the two factions of Satmar discussing Election Day win during a lecture on Psalms held this morning in Kiryas Joel.

Addressing participants, Rabbi Teitelbaum shared that someone told him this morning that he had won the election, but that that sentiment was far from the case. Instead, the Satmar grand rabbi explained, he had merely been relying on common sense to find a way to protect New York’s yeshivas from the latest round of secular education requirements.

Rabbi Teitelbaum took a dim view of some in the Jewish community, disparaging them as crazed followers of former President Donald Trump.

Continuing in a similar vein, Rabbi Teitelbaum also alluded that those Trumpster’s are WhatsApper’s.

Signs that were posted in Kiryas Joel made their way onto Twitter today, thanking the village for delivering its bloc vote to Hochul and Arutz Sheva (https://bit.ly/3UDeHbY) reported that Hochul called the Satmar Rebbe’s wife this morning to thank her for the community’s support.

More from Rav Avigdor Miller,

“We should vote for the one who appears to us to be the most conservative. Now, I can’t tell you who that is. But there’s no question that the conservatives of today are extremely more liberal than the liberals of thirty years ago. We have already advanced so far beyond the borders of liberalism, that today we can afford to retreat many miles behind these boundries and still remain in the forefront of liberalism. And therefore, today there’s no such thing as too much conservatism. You have to vote for conservative candidates on every level – on national, state and city levels.”

We should pay attention to what the great צדיק Rav Avigdor Miller had to say on the subject. There was no mistake. It was an obligation.

“ We should vote for the one who appears to us to be the most conservative. Now, I can’t tell you who that is. But there’s no question that the conservatives of today are extremely more liberal than the liberals of thirty years ago. I agree with the rebbe about the Trumpism, However is he accusing Rav Riesman and all the mosdos hatorah of supporting. Zelden because of Trumpisim?. The rebbe should just say the real reason they supported Houhcal and Maloney because of their water project. and like I said last week Satmar like it or not is the face of the chasidishe mosdos and by supporting Houchal against the other mosdos makes their argument against the SED very weak now.

There are many on VIN who are crazed followers of Trump and can be called Trumpists or Trumpanzees. Trump is not infallible, has a long history of fabrication, questionable business practices and immorality. He is not a man to be admired by the frum community and there is no politician that we should have absolute and complete faith in.

I think we’re missing the Rabbi’s point here.

Knowing him as a Talmud I understood that by “Trumpism” he meant the entire political system.

He’s basically saying that in the past few years our community has gotten too involved in the outside world of politics; be it with everyone having their own opinions, or actually identifying with a political party.

We are in Gules here and we are not aligned with neither party, we only have our survival to hope for until we go back home with Moshiach.

That said, in the meantime in order to survive we have to do our best with what we have. The Rabbi has a long history with Albany going back to the Public School he helped to create. He’s been in this position many times before this election cycle and guided his community what to do throughout the years.

Nowadays we have individuals armed with a Twitter account with no actual responsibilities to the community, and we can’t hold them accountable for their actions. They have opinions and influence over whomever they want with no regard to what the results will be.

I’m not commenting on the actual endorsement he gave, as I’m too young and inexperienced to know what’s best for Klal Yisroel as a whole.

I hope this clarifies a bit.

He is right that too many frum Jews have been brainwashed by Trump.

But you don’t have to be a Trumpist to have supported Zeldin over Hochul.

Right now brainwashed leftwing radical liberalism poses a bigger threat to US citizens safety.
Personally, I’m tired of Trump’s big mouth & ego, but he gave us four years of worldwide peace & prosperity. The Jewish lives saved in Israel at that calm time are enough to be eternally grateful. I choose however to thank Hashem for pulling his strings than the orange puppet himself. If he makes a comeback, I’ll be very thankful especially to the puppetmaster.
Do NOT BE UNGRATEFUL & KOFUY TOV especially publicly, that is the worst middah.

With all due respect to the Rebbe, I don’t know anyone that voted for Zeldin because of Trumpism. But I know hundred that voted for Zeldin because The gedolim instructed us to. Kashau, Rav Kaminetsky, rav Reisman, Bobov, etc. We BH look at the Torah and see that Torah (Mishnah and Gemara) is full of Machlokes. Both are considered divrei Elokim Chaim. Rav Moshe zt”l used to say thdd uncharacteristic same when Rabbonim of our generation argued as well. Instead of calling other yidden trumpsters etc let’s respect that they listened to their Rabbonim and satmar Kiryas Yoel followed their daas Torah!!!

Trump endorsed over 200 candidates. Half of them lost. He’s beating his chest about the ones that won. And he’s attacking and insulting the ones who lost. GOP Governor Kemp of Georgia won despite Trump endorsing his GOP opponent. This is Trumpism.

While the Rebbe is absolutely right in denouncing Trumpism he would have had credibility if he also denounced Hochul and her party for supporting values which are antithetical to Yiddishkeit, such as Toeiva “marriage”, abortion on demand and the like. Since he did not, the statement is not one based on Jewish values, but strictly political

Not he says it. Every sane individual says it.

We Frum Yidden are falling lately for newly come youngsters and irresponsible people who behave to politicians as they are worthless.

Look at Hikind during the campaign. Watch Hikind today how he badmouths Trump.

See the shameless tweet today of Ami Magazine.

The Aronim Chasidius with their Rebbe are excellent politicians. They always go for the politician who has the most chance to win.
