FLORIDA (VINnews) — Ivanka Trump, who was a senior advisor to her father during his 2016 campaign and four years in the White House, says she is staying out of politics for the foreseeable future.

She issued a statement this evening near the end of President Trump’s candidacy announcement in Mar-a-Lago:
“I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” Ivanka said. “I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments,” she added.

Ivanka Trump did not attend the announcement Tuesday night at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. According to reports, her husband Jared Kushner, also a senior advisor to Trump, did attend the event.
