The footage was recorded during the weekly shmooze which he delivers to hundreds of Avereichim, and published on the B’Chadrei Charedim news site.
Rav Gershon spoke about a bracha that we recite each morning:
“שלא עשני גוי. We say it with such simplicity. [But] it’s a madreiga. So much simcha! So much joy!”
The Rosh Yeshiva continued, “We don’t feel it, we don’t [appreciate] how fortunate we are. We say Shma Yisrael. Emuna. That is our joy. The Torah.”
At one point Rav Gershon expressed his hope that all Jews will get to experience this pleasure.
“Baruch Hashem, Am Yisrael is alive and standing with this madreiga. And B’Ezras Hashem…not only those who keep Torah and Mitzvos, but also Acheinu Bnei Yisrael who are [unaffiliated] will merit to be on this level…they [already] have the [Jewish] character, they have the “Rachmanim”…but they do not have the joyous life…Heaven should have mercy that they should all be joyful.”
He should smile more.
