Haaretz's Amos Biderman depicts chareidim riding on shoulders of secular Israelis until they collapse

Attorney Yossi Weizman

said that “the situation is shocking. They are disparaging the entire chareidi sector, yesterday I spoke against a report which portrayed the entire chareidi public as leeches who are not productive and this morning we saw a shocking caricature in one of the newspapers. If this had been published in Europe, the entire country here would have been in an uproar. We are facing a very difficult period, it seems like a trend to attack chareidim together with the new government.”

Weizman was referring to a Haaretz caricature depicting the chareidim as riding on the backs of a perspiring secular person, and as they continue to multiply cause him to collapse to the ground.

Weizman added that “I hope that the government will propose a bill which prohibits slandering an entire sector or community. We, the chareidi lawyers, need to establish a legal body which will act against this rabid incitement.

Weizman says that the freedom of speech laws do not prevent journalists from besmirching entire groups or sectors. He warned that if such a law was promulgated it could be used against chareidi journalists as well if they speak against the entire secular sector, but stressed that “currently all the red lines have been crossed”, as newspapers falsely claim that chareidim live off public coffers and pay a sixth of the taxes of their secular counterparts.

It’s unfortunately true. The Israeli economy will collapse if the Chareidy growth continues with such large numbers taking from the government and not contributing

Probably, the systematically anti-semitic nyt will buy the rights to this cartoon and prominently put it on their website next to the cartoon with trump as a do being led by big nose Jew boy, Netanyahu. Hey, is this guy married? Maybe he is a good shiduch for eliza shapiro.

We have incitement against Chareidim on frum websites in the US too by people posting hateful comments against us. Why shouldn’t non-Jewish anti-Semites do the same thing if Jews themselves are inciting hate?

On a side note I would also like to say that many Rabbi’s in the earlier part of the 20th century also made a living working on Shabbos, Ironically their job was to give Musser to the other yidden who also had no choice and worked on Shabbos.
