Young Arab Doctor Becomes Youngest Medical Professor in Israel

JERUSALEM (VINnews) – At the mere age of 35, Dr. Abdulla Watad from the Arab village of Jatt, a senior rheumatologist specializing in autoimmune diseases, has gotten a title that most people receive at a much later age and stage in life.

Watad has become the youngest Israeli physician to receive a full professorship in the Tel Aviv University Faculty of Medicine after co-authoring about 200 scientific publications.

Watad has been working in Sheba Medical Center since 2013 after graduating medical school in Italy. He is a senior rheumatologist and deputy director of the Internal Medicine B in Sheba.
