The Gerer wedding took place first, as tens of thousands congregated on Yirmiyahu street near the famous Beis Midrash of Gur. A gallery of illustrious rabbis, including Rabbi Yitzchak Zilberstein, Rav Yitzchak Yosef, the Boyaner Rebbe and Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau participated in the chupa, as the crowd burst into song immediately afterwards.
The Belz wedding took place in the evening, as thousands of chasidim gathered near the Beis Midrash and rejoiced with the Rebbe, his son Rav Aharon Mordechai and grandson, the eighth grandchild to be married.
The celebration moved after the chupa to the huge Arena center in the south of Jerusalem, where the meal and Mitzva Tanz took place. The chasidim were gratified to see the rebbe dance with them after he underwent significant back surgery just two months ago.
The Belz wedding was also attended by prominent litvish rabbis, including Aterest Yisrael rosh yeshiva Rabbi Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi (who also participated in the Gur wedding) and Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, rosh yeshiva of Slabodka.
