Trump Returning to Twitter?

(VINnews) — Prepare to be entertained again.

According to reports, President Trump has been toying with the idea of returning to Twitter, where he’s been absent for nearly 2 1/2 years, after he was banned by the old guard.

Axios is reporting that while it may not happen in the very near future, Trump is mulling the idea, heading into the primary season, according to sources.

Trump has nearly 87 million followers on Twitter, but hasn’t posted there since he was banned after Jan. 6. Now a growing number of Trump supporters are expecting him to tweet again.

For more than a year, Trump has been blasting his thoughts to 5 million followers on Truth Social. Elon Musk reinstated Trump last November, but he has not tweeted since then.

Trump sends less than half of the Truth Social posts on his own, one person close to him told Axios. Others he dictates or they are written by senior campaign advisers.

Under Musk, many Republicans retweet Trump’s Truth Social posts to Twitter’s broader audience.

“President Trump needs to make Twitter great again. I want him to get back on before the presidential campaign heats up,” says Mike Davis, a Trump ally and founder of The Article III Project, a conservative legal group.

“From a business perspective, it’s very smart he’s only on Truth. From a political perspective, he needs to be on Twitter.”

Trump’s activity on Truth Social has ramped up of late. Several weeks ago, he used the platform to pre-empt the DOJ’s announcement that he was being indicted in the documents case.
