JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Israeli media star Guy Lehrer referred to the recent protests against Chabad Tefillin booths in various cities in Israel which have led to attempts to harass those who are placing Tefillin and those performing the Mitzvah.

Lehrer, a secular person who hosts a popular TV show, attacked the liberals who are opposed to public placing of Tefillin and said: “What does it disturb you that Chabadniks stand and ask people to place Tefillin? Aren’t there more important things? Sure there are more important things?

Lehrer mocked the protesters, stating that “If you are so worried that your children will be influenced from one time placing Tefillin and it will change their lives, the problem is not with the Chabadniks, it is with you and the sense of trust you have in the education you gave your children.

In recent days anti-religious elements have ramped up their opposition to the Tefillin booths, with one incident in the Habima square in Tel Aviv in which a woman threatened a Chabadnik placing Tefillin on children with illegal solicitation of minors, claiming that “he could go to jail.”

On Friday, 43 complaints were submitted against Chabad Tefillin booths in Kfar Saba, Hod Hasharon, Ramat HaSharon and Herzliya. The complaints came from Naor Narkis, an Israeli who established an organization to prevent the “missionary” presence in these cities, so that “They keep away from children of the enlightened public.”

As annoying as they are at times illegal ?
Only in those that hate their religion but this has been an age old problem starting in Europe after the enlightened age began

Why don’t you give out sandwiches. Stop judging others. They have their methods. Business? I don’t know. What’s your proof?

And they don’t get paid monetarily by helping others put on tefillin.

Do u give out sandwiches, help others do mitzvis and clean the streets?

it is with you and the sense of trust you have in the education you gave your children.

This is the one line where even this guy is wrong. No matter how much you educate your kids, truthfulness has legs. The truth is they should wear teflin.

I am under the impression that the majority of secular Israelis celebrate a barmitzva when their sons turn 13. Many if not most of those put on tefilin for the barmitzva at least once on that occasion. Thus, it is unlikely that parents of an over barmitzva boy would mind if their son agreed to put on tefilin again at a Lubavitch stand.

Chabadniks would have a strong negative response if a secular person opened a treif hot dog stand, or even an chalav stam ice cream stand, and was luring Lubavitch kids for free food in Kfar Chabad .
