JERUSALEM (VINnews) — IDF Givati commandos and Police Special Forces eliminated two terrorists in the city of Shechem after they perpetrated a shooting attack at a police van near Har Bracha. The two, identified as Hairi Shahin and Hamza Maqbul, were attempting to hide out in the city but were eliminated in a shootout with IDF forces who surrounded the house they were hiding in.

Two other terrorists were arrested during the Shechem operation. There were no injuries to IDF soldiers.
The incident occurred a day after the deadly terrorist attack in Kedumim in which a Givati soldier, Shilo Yosef Amir, was killed.
Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the forces who participated in the operation, adding that “Every terrorist who dares to spill the blood of Israelis will find himself in one of two places – in a grave or in prison.”
IDF soldiers also mapped out the home in the village of Kibiya of the terrorist who killed Amir prior to its demolition. Stones were thrown at the forces who responded with gunfire, one soldier was lightly injured.
