(VINnews) — Last week, CASEPAC launched an online petition supporting a House Resolution to censure Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal after they learned about an effort by Congressman Andy Ogles to hold Congresswoman Jayapal accountable for her viciously anti-Israel remarks.

Congressman Ogles introduced H. Res. 606 “Censuring Pramila Jayapal, Representative of the 7th Congressional District of Washington.” on July 20, 2023 in an effort to hold Congresswoman Jayapal accountable for spreading lies about the State of Israel.
“We launched this online petition to give the American people an opportunity to send a strong message to our elected officials in Washington D.C. that Antisemitism has no place in America, especially not Congress,” said Bryan E. Leib, Executive Director of CASEPAC.
The petition reads:
On July 15, 2023, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) knowingly spread lies about Israel, the homeland of the Jewish people, when she told an audience at a NetRoots conference “I want you to know that we have been fighting to make it clear that Israel is a racist state.”
After making these comments, Rep. Jayapal went on to make additional hateful comments about Israel and the Jewish people.
With the record levels of Antisemitism in America, this type of rhetoric from Members of Congress pours gasoline on a fire that is already out of control!
In direct response to the words from Rep. Jayapal, Rep. Andy Ogles (TN-05) introduced a censure resolution on July 20th saying “Whereas Representative Pramila Jayapal has promoted antisemitic and anti-Israel sentiment through her congressional career.” The entire resolution can be found here.
