JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Slowly but surely the stories of individual heroism in the face of unspeakable evil are beginning to emerge. One of these heroes is Lieutenant Colonel Guy Madar. A career army officer, Guy lives further north and was celebrating Simchas Torah in Kiryat Gat, a 30-minute drive from Re’im. Hearing about the terrorist incursion, Guy got in his car and hurried south, carrying only his personal pistol.

Arriving in the region of Re’im, Guy saw a badly wounded Golani soldier and took him into his car. At the same time a Hamas terrorist shot at his car, but Guy maneuvered away and managed to shoot the terrorist dead. Taking the soldier’s gun, Guy killed another five terrorists on motorcycles.

Having transferred the soldier to a field hospital, Guy joined a policeman travelling southward and once again they were attacked by terrorists. Guy and the policeman were injured in their legs and the car careened off the road. Guy was left in a ditch but still managed from there to eliminate more terrorists, after placing a tourniquet on his injured leg. He lay in the ditch for two hours with tens of dead terrorists nearby until the arrival of IDF forces. Unfortunately they thought that he was one of the terrorists as he was wearing civilian clothes. Guy cried that he was a soldier but was already weak from loss of blood. At the last minute one of the soldiers said: ‘Don’t shoot , he had tzitzis!’ and thus his life was dramatically saved. Guy was taken to Beilinson Hospital where he was operated on and is now being treated.

Guy’s amazing story is inspiring both in the courage he showed to travel alone into danger and in the way his life was saved in the end.

and when each rat terrorist dies, we need to sing Shira.
The gemara says that Chizkiyahu Hamelech was going to be Mashiach, but he did not sing Shira at the downfall of the reshaim, so he was not made Mashiach

B”H he was saved and not mistakenly identified as one of the terrorists. Similar stories of people proving they were Jewish, in other situations, also saved their respective lives. May all the soldiers be unharmed, and refuah shelaima to those wounded, from now and before. Again, we may daven for them, but we must face up to the fact these tens of thousands of current army recruits and the often married with children reservists are putting their lives on the line that we will never, ever fully appreciate. It’s sad that the IDF shoots itself in the foot by being hostile to Shomer Shabbos young men that parents must avoid their sons serving. Simultaneously, it’s sad that many young and middle-aged chareidi boys and men can’t do anything physical to defend their towns, cities, even families.
Things really, really need to change.

The civilized nations should abet and finance ‘Israel’s efforts to eradicate Hamas of the face of the earth. As long as those human beasts are stilll breathing. It is a desecration of the Almighty’s name..who could unleash again the coronavirus and other calamities.

“At the last minute one of the soldiers said: ‘Don’t shoot , he had tzitzis!’ ” – this is what is called a bubble maise. an idf soldier finding even a wounded terrorist lying by the side of the road, would get him medical attention.
