JERUSALEM (VINnews)— Noam (31) and Yishai (24) Slotki were celebrating Simchas Torah with their families in Beersheva when they heard about the terrorist attacks taking place in the Western Negev. They also heard that there weren’t enough forces out there to deal with the incursions.

Bravely leaving their families, they elected to go to the region and see who they could save. Their car was found at the entrance to Kibbutz Alumim, a religious kibbutz which the terrorists did not infiltrate but there was fierce fighting nearby. The last contact with them was at 10 AM.

Unfortunately both were later found to have been gunned down by the evil terrorists. Noam and Yishai both left a wife and young baby.

The two are grandchildren of Rabbi Eitan Eisman, one of the prominent Religious Zionist rabbis and the founder of the Noam-Zviya network of schools. Rabbi Eisman is a close disciple of Rabbi Zvi Yehuda Kook and Rabbi Avraham Shapira, the heads of Merkaz Harav yeshiva.

The funeral is set for 7:30 PM Thursday at Mt. Herzl. A guard of honor will pass by their parents home in Ramot at 6 PM.
