How Moshav Ein Habesor Was Heroically Saved From Hamas Assault – Without The IDF

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — With the army neutered and not functioning during the brutal Hamas assault on Israel, it remained to the local guards in each and every community to try and fend off the ferocious attacks of the terrorists. Ill-equiped, disorganized groups of middle-aged civilians were forced to fight against combat soldiers armed to the teeth. It was not an equal battle and many of the guards lost their lives trying vainly to defend their wives and children from the rapacious enemy.

Yet in some communities, the local guard was organized and prepared, not necessarily due to Hamas.

“Moshav Ein Habesor had suffered recently a spate of car thefts and weapons thefts. A month ago they decided to organize a local guard platoon comprising 75 people, including 5 who patrolled nightly to prevent thefts. The group has become more skilled and adept at preventing the thefts,” explained Prof. Yiftach Gaffner, a Tel Aviv University professor of medicine.

After the first rockets and shells fell on Shabbat, the local guard organized on the fences of the moshav. A few minutes later, when the terrorists arrived in cars, a heroic battle broke out in which the terrorists were eliminated and chased away.

Gaffner said that “Under severe inferiority of firepower, the local guard dealt with the attack of Hamas terrorists and stopped them. Yiftach’s brother Elad was injured during the battle and needed immediate transfer to hospital.

Yiftach treated his brother and tried to smuggle him out through the back gate of the  moshav but he saw a huge group of 30 terrorists futher down the road. As the hamas shot at them and tried to catch them, Yiftach hurriedly retreated back into the moshav, although Elad suffered further injuries. Exiting from another gate, Yiftach managed to slip through the cordon and make it to Soroka hospital in two hours, as his brother’s condition deteriorated from loss of blood. At the hospital doctors stabilized his condition and thus he was saved.

Prof. Gaffner is not ready to give up. He says that “this incident requires us to put an end to Hamas as an army and ruling authority,” but adds that “just as we went from Holocaust to rejuvenation, and gained strength after 1973, we will reestablish the communities on the Gaza border, stronger and more successful. For the coming generations, the state of Israel has a duty to rebuild this special and important region- as we have no other country.”

Daven, put your hope in H’, and act in self defense Hishtadlus. Obtain a firearm permit, go to the range, develop emergency defense procedures in your shul and yeshivos, etc. Anyone who says to ignore the hishtadlus is a koifer and a faker and his tefilos are fake too.
