JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Major Ohr, a deputy battalion commander in the Givati brigade, fought valiantly and heroically during the October 7th attack in Kfar Azza. Ohr later described in a television interview how “From Shabbat at 3 PM until Monday at 10 PM, we spent over 50 hours in battle with the terrorists. I saw sights I had never imagined I would see.”

The Givati soldiers saved the residents of Kfar Azza from an even greater tragedy, engaging the terrorists and eliminating them. The battalion was then sent to Gaza, where once again it is at the forefront of fighting with the enemy.
During the current fighting, Ohr was very badly injured after his Namer half-track was hit by an anti-tank missile. He was sedated and respirated for four days at Tel Hashomer hospital as doctors performed operations and fought to save his life. Recently the doctors had been trying unsuccessfully to wake him up. In the end they decided to play Ohr a recording of his two-year-old daughter Yael, in the hope that her voice would help him to wake up.

Yael duly played her part, saying; “Wake up Daddy, we’re waiting for you.I love you so much and am waiting for you here.” A short time later, Ohr woke up, to the amazement of all. He isn’t yet speaking, but he is communicating with the family and is hopefully BH on the way to recovery.
Please obtain and share his name so we can say it with the Tehilim we’re saying for him.
