WASHINGTON — The White House on Tuesday reiterated that President Joe Biden does not support an Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip once the war ends.

Asked about Netanyahu’s comments, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said he would leave it to Netanyahu to clarify what he means by having “indefinite” control of Gaza’s security.

“There needs to be a healthy set of conversations about what post conflict Gaza looks like and what governance looks like,” Kirby told reporters. “What we absolutely agree with our Israeli counterparts on is what it can’t look like, and it can’t look like it looked on October 6.”

Biden previously said it would be a “mistake” for Israel to occupy Gaza.

Of course, Israel will reoccupy Gaza. It will also have to build Jewish settlements there as a security measure to break up the possibility of a contiguous Arab domain that would re-enable a Hamas like entity from taking over again. However, Netanyahu should avoid talking about it and just let it happen organically.

From what I understood based on an interview with face the nation, it means A) Israel “occupies” just the section near the Egyptian border B) keep Gaza split into two sections with a middle strip that Israel occupies

Israel doesn’t want to occupy Gaza. Israel wants to not have missiles launched at it, and there’s no easy way to accomplish that.

So after a war that was started by the Palestinians, where the only wasy to stop it is to wipe out Hamas – according to the white house or anyone else – what should happen? That the land should be given back for peace? I think Israel tried that.
Why doesnt the white house “give back” the land that it “occupied” from the British, Dutch, Spanish – or to the native Americans – I think anyone else would do a better job than who is there now.
This is what happens when you start a war and demand a state “from the river to the sea” – Israel will rule it all.

Let”s get real about the idea of Abbas and the PA taking care of the Gaza strip.
First of all, Abbas is old and has major health problems — he is unlikely to live to 120 years of age, more likely to die soon.
He has not done anything to make the west bank a peaceful state — there is a lot of terrorism there as we all know — how does he contribute to peace — pay for slay payments!!!
This is not a partner for peace — until there is a real partner for peace — you cannot give control of Gaza to Abbas!!!!!
It is hard to believe Biden and Blinken cannot realize these very well known and evident facts — Abbas is not the way to peace or “two states living side=by=side in peace!!!!! Get real!!
