In different regions this shopping holiday has its own peculiarities reflecting cultural and consumer preferences. Promocodius experts tell us that every year the interest in Black Friday only increases.

“We see a steady increase in consumer activity in different regions of the world related to Black Friday. This trend demonstrates that shoppers around the world trust this day as a time to purchase favorable goods and services” – notes Lolita Belkina from Promocodius.

Annualized growth in retail sales for the Christmas holidays

Holiday retail sales are projected to show remarkable growth in 2023, surpassing last year’s figures by 3%. This is a conservative estimate and it is expected that growth could reach 4%.

“The Christmas season is a period when many shoppers are actively looking for bargains and promo codes. We predict a noticeable surge in shopping interest and therefore companies should prepare for increased demand and adapt their marketing strategies ” –  says the expert.

The study of consumer preferences during Black Friday in 2023 allows us to identify key categories of goods. According to the Promocodius survey people are most interested in this year:

Electronics – 66%

Smartphones, laptops, tablets and other electronic devices will be in the center of attention of shoppers.

Clothing and accessories – 54%

Fashion trends and seasonal collections will attract shoppers looking to update their closet, and great deals like the coupon code Express will help them save big.

Home Appliances and Décor – 35%

Consumers are actively interested in purchasing home appliances, as well as interior and home decor items.

Cosmetics and personal care – 33%

This category includes skin care products, perfumes and cosmetics, which are becoming available at attractive prices.

Toys – 32%

Black Friday also has an impact on the children’s goods sector, attracting the attention of parents looking for great deals on gifts.

Sports equipment – 26%

Active lifestyle enthusiasts will find discounts on sports equipment and accessories.

Food & Beverage – 16%

Even in this category, Black Friday can offer great deals, especially in the gourmet and exclusive beverage segment.

“Understanding which product categories are most popular in different years helps companies to adapt more effectively to market demands and attract the attention of consumers” – says the expert.
