JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit cleared for publication on Wednesday morning the names of two soldiers who fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip and whose families have been notified. 192 soldiers have fallen since the start of the Gaza campaign, in addition to 335 who died on Oct. 7th.

Staff Sergeant (res.) Zechariah Pesach Haber, 32, from Jerusalem, and Sergeant major (res.) Yair Katz, 34, from Holon, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
In addition, a reservist in the 52nd Battalion was seriously injured in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
The soldiers were killed when an RPG hit their tank as it was operating in the Northern Gaza region. Currently the IDF has withdrawn forces from the region but continues to make incursions when information about terrorist activity is revealed.
A reservist medic was also seriously injured in the Gaza border region.
Zecharia Haber is the 6th soldier from the Har Etzion yeshiva to fall in action during the Swords of Steel campaign. He is survived by his wife Talia and three children.
Haber, a botanist, was a doctoral student in the Hebrew University’s agriculture department, and had already published academic articles in leading publications while completing his masters degree.
Yair Katz is survived by his parents and two brothers.
