NEW YORK (VINnews) — Conservative columnist Michael Goodwin, one of the most rational voices in politics, wrote a scathing op-ed, slamming President Biden for his looming “betrayal” of Israel.

The piece sharply criticized Biden’s complete turnaround on Israel, seemingly due to political pressure. It also deescribed many who protested Biden’s initial support of Israel as “classic antisemites who oppose Israel’s very existence.”
Goodwin wrote: “These so-called protesters, some of them violent, don’t try to hide their support for Hamas’ plan to control all land “from the river to the sea.”
Goodwin slammed Biden for playing politics with Israel’s survival by caving into leftist Democrats, and essentially throwing America’s number one Middle East ally under the bus.
He wrote: “It is dishonest to defend Biden’s undercutting of Israel as part of some strategic view of how to bring a just and lasting peace to the region. His words and actions increasingly have little to do with peace and everything to do with pandering to domestic political critics.”
He said Biden’s position on Israel “began as forceful backing of Israel after the Oct. 7 invasion by Hamas, [yet] changed as large parts of the Democrats’ base made it clear they would not vote for him because of his support for Israel.”
Goodwin said that “Faced with Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and a shaky re-election campaign, the president isn’t just going wobbly in his support for our embattled ally — he’s inching toward a full betrayal of Israel to appease American radicals.”
He observed the hypocrisy of leftists who “claim to be concerned about the suffering of Palestinian civilians, but voiced no concern that Hamas uses those civilians as human shields and turned Gaza into a terrorist launching pad while stealing billions of foreign aid. Nor are they moved by the horrific events of Oct. 7, including the slaughter of Israeli children and the raping and torture of women.”
In some ways, Biden has been tougher on Israel, despite its fight for survival, than any past administration.
As Goodwin observed, “the White House slapped sanctions on four Israelis in the West Bank, accusing them of violence toward Palestinians. Then aides announced last week they were investigating whether Israel misused American munitions in Gaza.”
He continued, “Similarly, Biden’s push for the creation of a Palestinian state rewards Hamas’ brutality and would result in perpetual war that could become a global conflict.”
The op-ed slammed Antony Blinken for his disingenuous claims that a two-state solution would be BENEFICIAL for Israel.
“Virtually every Arab country now genuinely wants to integrate Israel into the region to normalize relations . . . to provide security commitments and assurances so that Israel can feel more safe,” Blinken said recently. He continued: “And there’s also, I think the imperative, that’s more urgent than ever, to proceed to a Palestinian state that also ensures the security of Israel.”
Goodwin wrote:
“Blinken, like his boss, conveniently ignores two enormous facts: First, the Trump administration secured the Abraham Accords with four Muslim nations without endangering Israel’s survival… Second, there is no credible vision for a Palestinian state that ensures the security of Israel.”
“It’s an oxymoron, as has been proven repeatedly for 75 years.”
Obama did the same thing biden is just taking it one step further, democrats always stab Israel in the back and side with their enemies
It is for this reason alone that any Jew who cares about his brother must hold his nose and vote Trump
Stop thinking so much about the ratzon of democrats or republicans or biden or trump. They are irrelevant. Think about the ratzon haborai.
What a busha vecherpa how much time and importance some yiddin place on politicians.
Biden likely will be the last Democrat who will even minimally supports Israel. And he’s clearly turning against it. After him we need to prepare ourselves for Democrat candidates totally hostile to Israel. As a registered Democrat, it’s a sad reality to absorb. As a people our community has no choice but to vote Republican.
OK. So let’s just make a note of this and come back in a few months as see if this guy was right.
Time for another rally in Washington, complete with hischabrus with the reshaim that will run that rally and closing yeshivas and girls’ schools to send them there, to become good Zionist heretics, just like last time. (Yes, that was sarcastic.)
