IDF Names Two Soldiers Who Fell In Gaza Fighting

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit cleared for publication Sunday morning the names of two IDF soldiers who fell in battle and whose family has been notified.

Staff sergeant Neriya Beleta, 21, from Shavei Shomron, fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip. Beleta served in the Givati Brigade.

Neriya’s parents, Rahamim and Batsheva, immigrated from Ethiopia to Samaria. Neria, the second of six brothers and sisters, was born in Israel. MK Limor Son Har-Melech eulogized him: “Neriya, who grow up in an idealistic home where he absorbed love of his people and country, Neriya with the kind eyes and everpresent smile, Neriya with the modesty who did so much without fanfare. Neriya with the good attributes and inborn nobility. Neriya that all of Shavei Shomron were praying would return home in peace. Neriya in life and in death wouldn’t be easy on himself and continued fighting for Am Yisrael- Neriya, intercede for us from above.”

The levaya will take place at Netanya cemetery at 12 PM on Sunday.

  • Staff Sergeant Ido Eli Zarihan (20) from Jerusalem, a Givati brigade soldier, fell in battle Saturday in the southern Gaza strip.

In addition, an officer and two soldiers from the Givati Brigade were seriously injured in battle in the southern Gaza Strip. The officer and the two soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment at a hospital, their families were notified.
