IDF Eliminates Jenin Terrorist With Explosive Device On His Way To Suicide Attack

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The IDF announced that during a joint IDF and Shin Bet counterterrorism raid, Muhammad Jabar, a resident of Jenin, was eliminated in the town of Zeita while on his way to Israel to carry out a suicide attack in the immediate future. Jabar was armed with a weapon and a ready-to-use explosive device and was eliminated after he opened fire on the IDF forces.

The terrorist had apparently intended on perpetrating an attack, coinciding with the beginning of Ramadan, in central Tel Aviv.

The IDF spokesperson said that during the course of the raid, IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Police forces operated throughout the day in Jenin and arrested a wanted individual responsible for shooting attacks and planting explosives. Four lathes used for manufacturing weapons were confiscated in an operation in the town of Urif in Samaria, and ten wanted individuals were apprehended overnight across Judea and Samaria.

In operational activity during the day (Tuesday morning) in Jenin, within the Manasseh Division, IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Police forces arrested three wanted individuals and seized M-16 rifles. Among those arrested was Mahdi Fayad, an active member of the Gaza Supporter’s Movement from Jenin. Fayad is involved in terrorist activities and has been involved in carrying out shooting attacks and planting explosives against security forces.

The arrested wanted individuals and confiscated combat equipment were transferred for further handling by security forces, with no injuries to our forces.

So far, since the beginning of the conflict, approximately 3,500 wanted individuals have been arrested across the Judea and Samaria Division and the Jordan Valley and the Valleys Brigade, with over 1,500 of them affiliated with the Hamas terrorist organization.
