JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The US believes a major attack by Iran on Israel is imminent and could happen in the coming days, the Bloomberg news agency reported Wednesday.

Citing people familiar with US and Israeli intelligence assessments, Bloomberg reported that Iran could launch strikes involving high-precision missiles and drones targeting military and government sites in Israel.

According to the report, it is a matter of when Tehran will attack rather than if Tehran will attack, but it is still unclear whether it will come from Iranian territory or one of its proxies.

The report also adds that Tehran could use high-precision missiles or drones in its assault. Israeli officials said that they are preparing for an unprecedented attack directly from Iran using cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and drones against Israeli targets.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said Israel “must be punished and it shall be” for allegedly attacking an Iranian consular building in Syria’s Damascus earlier this month, killing two generals among several Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers.

The US is sending its top commander in charge of the Middle East to Israel today to coordinate responses ahead of the possible Iranian attack, according to two Israeli officials.

General Erik Kurilla, commander of the US Central Command, will meet with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and senior Israel Defense Forces officials, Axios reported.

Judging by the way Biden and his henchmen have been treating Israel, I fear that this act of sending Gen Kurilla is to further hamstring Israeli responses to attacks.
