NEW YORK CITY (VINnews) — The Trump-hating judge in the hush-money trial in New York City has reportedly disqualified all Orthodox Jews from being jurors. Although the official reason given is because it will create a scheduling conflict on Shabbos, the real reason is clearly because the judge is aware that Orthodox Jews generally support President Trump.

Orthodox Jews are being excluded from the Trump jury pool in New York City.

“The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s falsifying business records case has been accused by some conservative and MAGA figures of a “sleazy” move to prevent Orthodox Jews from sitting on the New York jury by holding proceedings on Fridays.
“Ahead of proceedings starting in the Manhattan courtroom, Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over the trial, is accused of taking steps to stop Orthodox Jewish people from being selected for the jury. Proceedings in the case will take place on Fridays, when Jewish people observe a period of rest known as the Shabbat that prevents them from undergoing work or other activities such as driving or cooking.
“However, as others have pointed out, Shabbat occurs between sunset on Friday and Saturday, meaning that observant Jews could hypothetically still take part in jury duty during the day as the sun will be setting around 7:30 p.m. in New York. The sun will set later in the day as the trial continues into the summer, by which point court proceedings would have ended for the day.”
If accurate, this would mean that most VIN News readers, who tend to be religious Jews, would be disqualified from being jurors.
In addition, according to reports about jury selection, jurors are being given a list of 42 questions, including which podcasts they listen to.
It is very likely that listeners to Ben Shapiro or The Yaakov M Show will be disqualified by DA Alvin Bragg, because they tend to be Trump supporters.
VIN News will provide daily updates on jury selection in this historic trial, in which Bragg has indicted Trump on bogus charges, in a pitiful effort to convict a presidential candidate prior to the November election.
Ridiculous. Courts sit regularly on Fridays and nobody accuses the courts of being biased against Orthodox Jews. Fridays are long these days. Furthermore, Judges are always flexible with Orthodox Jews and will finish a bit earlier than usual on that day. As for not trying the case on Wednesdays, if this is true, Judges hear motions once a week and that keeps them tied up. If the Judge is not trying the case on Wednesdays, it is because it is his motion day.
Crying discrimination when it doesn’t exist makes real accusations of discrimination less credible.
Fascinating that there’s no recourse against rogue judges and DAs. That’s a big gaping hole in the justice system that will drive the end of America.
Was the issue about Saturdays? Or Pesach?

It is not just Shabbos, but Yom Tov (Pesach) starts next week; therefore, I think that the Judge was being considerate in this matter.

If it is because of Shabbos, then all Orthodox Jews should always be exempt from jury duty, but I think the judge thinks Jews support Trump.
Not surprised to hear this and unfortunately, there will be ZERO repercussions even if true. Imagine what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot and a Judge refused to allow any Black or Hispanic person as part of the jury?!? Again, if true then a Jewish group or Organization should file a class-action Suit against the Judge & DA-Alvin Bragg’s office for server violation of civil-rights & open blatant discrimination. Play the race-card against them for once! In general, this trial is Stalinesque! I don’t care how much you hate D. Trump, its a travesty. The majority of prominent Attorney’s & law-experts in America, including many Liberal-Democrats, have all ripped this non-case and asked, “What is the Crime?” This is destroying our legal-system for the sake of college-campus-minded-ideology. The fix is already in. Team Biden NEEDS a conviction here to muddy the waters for Trump and scare away the Independents & Democrats leaving him in droves. Why? The USA Law has been twisted by refusing Jews to be part of the Juries in the case of Donald Trump. Apparently the US law has been twisted and changed and the law in the USA is not worth following as-it is based on lies???
