NEW YORK – In a wide-ranging and candid interview with Zev Brenner, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo discussed his political future, his ongoing feud with Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, and his deep concern over what he views as growing hostility toward the Jewish community in New York politics.

Cuomo confirmed he is seriously considering a challenge to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, citing what he called “a crisis of public safety and accountability” in New York City. “We can’t have a system where criminals walk free and law-abiding citizens live in fear,” he told Brenner. “The DA’s job is to enforce the law fairly — not politically.”
The conversation also turned personal when Cuomo addressed his public spat with Sliwa, who has repeatedly criticized him in media appearances. Cuomo brushed off the attacks but suggested Sliwa was “more interested in stunts than solutions,” adding, “New Yorkers deserve leaders who build, not bark.”
In one of the interview’s most striking moments, Cuomo warned that the Jewish community faces serious political risks if State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani — a progressive critic of Israel — were to win the mayoralty. “A Mamdani administration would be disastrous for the Jewish people and for the moral fabric of New York City,” Cuomo said, noting what he called “a dangerous normalization of antisemitism in political discourse.”
Cuomo also revealed plans to visit the Ohel in Queens, the sacred resting place of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. “The Rebbe’s message of unity, faith, and moral courage is timeless,” he said. “In moments like these, when the city feels divided, I think it’s important to seek that kind of spiritual guidance.”

Don’t be surprised by an executive order to demolish it. -Or at least but a hajib and burka on it. [paste AI generated photo of Statue of Liberty dressed as a moslem woman wearing veil, hajib and burka]
Perhaps we should’ve listened decades ago to NY Gedolim like HoRav Avigdor Miller ZYA and vote in masses for conservative candidates closer aligned with Public Safety & Torah values …instead of quick buck Democrat deals. Oh well.
A “Fear” campaign and “I’m not Mandami” is Cuomo’s only card left. He has no zechuyos left with our community.
