ARKANSAS – Arkansas officials are highlighting the state’s role in missile defense after the Raytheon-Rafael joint venture, R2S, secured a $1.25 billion contract to produce Tamir missiles for Israel’s Iron Dome system. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders called the state’s contribution a point of pride, noting the skilled workforce involved in building a system that protects both Israel and U.S. interests.

Former Governor Mike Huckabee also praised workers in Arkansas for their role in producing the defense system. The newly opened East Camden facility, backed by a $33 million investment, will manufacture Tamir rounds for the Iron Dome as well as the U.S. variant, SkyHunter.
The facility is expected to create up to 60 jobs, reinforcing Arkansas’ growing presence in defense manufacturing. Officials say the project highlights the state’s importance in both national security and international cooperation.
