Cruz, speaking at the ceremony at the museum in Washington, D.C., said it was an honor to induct the new members and underscored the museum’s central role in Holocaust remembrance and education.

“The Holocaust Museum does invaluable work educating the world about the atrocities of the Holocaust and ensuring that Never Again means Never Again,” he said.

    The newly sworn-in appointees include:

Ariel Simon Abergel (DC), Jonathan Burkan (NY), Robert David Garson (FL), Tila Falic (FL), Barbara Feingold (FL), Sigalit Flicker (NJ), Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz (NJ), Lee Marc Lipton (FL), Frederick Marcus (GA), Sidney Ferris Rosenberg (NY), Betty Pantirer Schwartz (NJ), Nate Segal (NY), Alex Witkoff (NY), Jackie Schutz Zeckman (FL).

The council, whose members are drawn from presidential appointments and congressional designations, works to guide the museum’s mission of preserving the historical record of the Holocaust and combating rising antisemitism.

Museum officials said the new trustees will assist in advancing national education efforts, outreach, and historical preservation at a time when Holocaust distortion and global antisemitism remain urgent concerns.
